Hello!
A little back story for you all.
I have always been a creative person and enjoyed art at school, I even went to do an Art foundation degree after sixth form which was one of the best years of my education life!
I then, however, fell more into photography and neglected painting completely!
When the pandemic hit and we were in the depths of lockdown, I was unable to photograph and needed a creative outlet. I remembered my boyfriend had bought me watercolour paints for my birthday, I got them out and away I went! Every week I started taking painting requests from people on Instagram and started painting anything they wanted and posting it to them to spread some happiness during these weird times.
(This wonderful idea came from Emily Harris, whos a brilliant artist! Check out her work https://www.eaharris.co/)
From this, I had a request to paint a naked lady in a rainforest which loads of people loved, and with that, the nude project was born!
When I first started painting nudes I never dreamt that it would become a project where I would help so many people on a journey to love their bodies! And in return, it has even helped heal some of my own demons.
I want to be a part of the change and help as many women as possible feel empowered by their bodies and love the skin they are in.
Our bodies are what’s got us to where we are today and we should spend a little less time worrying about that cookie pouch and a little more time being grateful!
Many women have sent me their beautiful bodies to paint and it's such a wonderful experience, It's having such a wonderful effect on both me and these wonderful women.
I believe we should all see that our bodies are works of art in themselves!
Much Love,
Laura
